Micah is a global network of Christian ministries and individuals who are united by their shared passion for integral mission. Micah was established in 1999 to answer the question asked in Micah 6:8.
Micah Global is an international network of Christians active in relief, development, care and advocacy. Members see themselves participating in God’s mission of holistic transformation through their calling to this work.
Micah Global members carry a vision of a flourishing creation in which people are living life to the full, free from poverty, injustice and conflict – at peace with God, nature and one another, as intended and enabled by Jesus Christ.
Micah Global members actively seek solidarity, learning and action with other members beyond their own contexts. They become part of country, regional, global and thematic communities of members. These communities form the basis for mutual capacity strengthening; communicating about their context and work; and taking collaborative action.
Micah Global members also seek to equip and encourage Christian communities more broadly to embrace and participate in God’s mission of holistic transformation.
Micah Global is rooted in an evangelical and biblical understanding of the Christian faith, with an understanding of God’s mission as holistic or integral, encompassing all aspects of life. Members seek to apply principles of Christian transformational development within their work.
Micah is a global network of the North and South, seeking to work in the spirit of enabling full participation of all members. As such, it provides common ground for connecting larger, international organisations and smaller, local ones so that they can listen to one another, and learn from one another.
Micah Global is led by a Board comprising members from each of the five regions of the network: Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe and Middle East, South and Central America, North America.
The Micah Global Secretariat is accountable to the Board and exists to equip and support members to be engaged, active and contributing members within the network. It also runs some projects, such as the Micah Triennial and Regional Consultations and other projects that are agreed from time to time.
… to see a global Christian community mobilised for transforming mission through the Gospel.
… to see communities living life in all its fullness, free from poverty, injustice and conflict.
The four core values of Micah are: Christ Centred, Equity, Humility, and Unity
History of Micah
Integral mission is not just evangelism and good works, it is the pursuit of justice, the persistence towards peace and reconciliation, the care of creation, the liberation, healing and restoration of all things in heaven and earth in Christ (Colossians 1:20). It is obedience to Jesus and following his way of love. Learn more about Integral Mission and more by searching our Resources section here, and see our Micah Declaration on Integral Mission.
Micah is a registered charity and a not for profit company in the United Kingdom.
Micah takes our name from the book in the Bible called Micah. The challenging questions from Micah chapter 6 verse 8 continues to frame our vision and approach: “What does the Lord require of us? To act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with our God.”
